Blog/Knowledge/How To Take Control From Your Doctor

Many people hear their doctor say, “Hey, your cholesterol is high, I need to put you on statins.” Hearing this can be devastating and highlights how much we are at the mercy of our doctors. I hate feeling forced to take medications and feeling like I don’t have a choice because I don’t know what I don’t know.

So… how do we take control away from our doctor in the statins conversation?

What You're About To Discover:

  • How to take control away from your doctor
  • What you need for this to work
  • How fast your body is capable of lowering cholesterol (to normal levels) naturally

How to take control away from your doctor

Too many people are already lowering their cholesterol naturally, and when they go to their doctor, they hear: “Oh, your cholesterol is high; I’m going to put you on statins.” But what if your cholesterol was already 50 points lower than at your previous visit?

Here’s what I would do: shift the focus from the result your doctor is seeing at that moment to the trend. The trend is the most important number. If it’s trending down, and your last visit wasn’t that long ago, it’s very rare that your doctor would still insist on putting you on statins.

To effectively leverage this trend in discussions with your doctor, you'll need detailed and accurate historical data. This strategy is a great way to take control and stop feeling so vulnerable at your doctor’s office.

What you need for this to work

Now that you know how to approach your conversations about statins, here's what you'll need to make your discussions as impactful as possible with data:

  • Your results from previous tests (know your numbers)
  • Date when previous tests were taken
  • Number of days  since previous test
  • Number of points your cholesterol has decreased
  • Ask if it's enough to avoid statins
  • If not, ask how much time they can give you to try lowering it naturally first

How Fast is Your Body Capable of lowering cholesterol naturally to normal levels?

With a cholesterol-detox program I'm currently enhancing, I’ve seen people naturally lower their cholesterol to the normal range in less than 30 days. Taking the natural approach will lower your cholesterol the fastest. I've seen it over and over again. There's no pill or supplement in the world that can accomplish what nutrition can! I will keep you posted when this is available again.
