This one mistake could cost you—having to get on statins or not being able to get off them. It’s that important.
I see several companies popping up, offering supplements or coffee replacements, claiming their products lower cholesterol.
No. What these companies are suggesting is that just by adding something to your existing diet, your cholesterol will go down without you having to change your eating habits. That’s absolutely FALSE.
Claims like this will keep you in the grip of statins. Think about it—supplements are a 4 billion dollar industry. If all you needed to do was add supplements for optimal health, then why is heart disease still our #1 killer? Why are we seeing a rise in cancer?
Adding supplements to our diet has never been the answer.
Now that you know supplements are not going to get us where we need to go, the question becomes: What do I need to do then? What’s the right answer here?
The right answer is that we need to ADD the right foods to lower cholesterol (not supplements) and we need to SUBTRACT the foods that keep our cholesterol high. This is the only way you can reduce your risk of having heart attacks and strokes.
The right foods to lower cholesterol have 0 mg of cholesterol and are packed with fiber. The wrong foods for cholesterol are the ones that contain more than 0 mg of cholesterol.
To make it simpler and more visual, here’s the formula to win the high-cholesterol fight in the first round:
Low cholesterol = High fiber foods – Foods with 1+ mg of cholesterol
That’s the formula that will keep you away from statins. It also happens to be the formula that will increase your energy and add years to your life.
